NEW BEGINNINGS | NOVEMBER 2018

I got the keys to my new place on November 1st and started officially moving stuff in November 2nd. It has been an hectic couple of days, but as I sit here on my couch it has all been so worth it. I wanted a place of my own and I got it when the timing was right. Everything worked out the way it was suppose to. This is a perfect beginning for me as we are approach a new year. Although it was a very spontaneous decision on my behalf I have never felt more right about something thus far. I am excited for the memories that will be created here.

I will show you guys pictures of the apartment with link to items once everything is officially moved in. I have to move a couple more things and decorate to make it a home then I will show you guys all the progress that was made.

I have lived by myself before when I was away at school in South Carolina, but this is different. It is different because when I was in SC I didn't have to furnish the apartment I just had to buy decorations, essentials, and food. When moving into this place I had to start from scratch. Before moving your stuff in an apartment I recommend you look around and see if are any flaws that you need to take note off. When you rent an apartment you don't want to be charged for anything when you move out that you didn't do. I take pictures and videos walking through the apartment just in case.

Most apartments will give you a checklist as well to go through to note if everything okay or not. Go through everything thoroughly. I noted everything I saw on the paper and then stared the things that I really wanted fixed right away. Another tip I would say is make sure you set up your cable/wifi prior to moving so you don't have to worry about that while moving in. I forgot that part and was sitting there confused, so learn from me. Your apartment will talk to you through everything else such as renters insurance, electricity, etc.

So quick recap on things to do when moving.

1. Take inventory of all flaws prior to moving anything. Test everything out such as shower/bath, washer machine, refrigerator, stove, air/heat, etc. Take pictures and/or videos.

2. Get your renter insurance, electricity, and cable/wifi handled or schedule prior to moving in.

3. Know that everything wont look how you envisioned right away - enjoy the process.

4. Congratulate yourself.

You can use this checklist if you want a play by play of what will most likely be needed in every room of your new place. You can use this checklist as well as it more aesthetically pleasing.
