2018 has showed me some of my favorite designers, and they all happened to be black. I unapologetically am rooting and supporting anyone black. I love the raw and authentic feel of all these designers. There is originality, a story, and a feel to everyone one of these designers that is incomparable. Nothing is better than clothes that make a statement and make you feel empowered.
Al. Willis (Nine Thirty): The king of the perfect tee. Al has the dopest shirts and his business is expanding quickly. He is giving you designer realness for everybody. There is something for everyone on his site. The shipping and customer service is unmatched. You can expect to see great things from him in 2019.
Sonique Saturday (You Fake Like This Birkin): The queen of the slogan bags. She is known for the infamous "You fake this Birkin" bag. She then took over the Chanel bag with her slogans. Sonique is now ending the year with a bang adding shirts to her shop. The bags range from $50-150.
Nareasha Wills (Black Vogue): A movement by herself, but a force when we are together. I don't think I have to say much about this brand as she has already taken the world by storm. I support her to the fullest and her fight for her brand. It is deeper than apparel - it is a way of life.
Jayda Cheaves (Amour Jayda): From hair + hair products, cosmetics, and now an apparel line.. there is nothing that Jayda can't do at this point. She is serious about putting nothing but greatness out. She takes quality serious.
Destinie (King Des): Des restocks/releases new products every Friday at 12 PM EST. Fashion queen, well king in the situation. Everything about her screams originality. She is serious about her craft and putting out the best products for her customers. She's a mompreneur and handles everything like a true boss.
There are various other brands that I have spotted in 2018 from black designers, but here are my top five favorite brands. There is something about all of these designers that make me feel something and that's the greatest thing about these brands. There is a story behind each designer and their designs. The pieces pictured above are my favorite buys of 2018. Simple, but powerful.
