It's almost been two year since I have worked in the fashion/modeling industry. I have learned a lot from the people around me guiding me and making sure I am informed, but also I have researched a lot. Personally I am the type of person that likes to know what others are talking about and contribute to the conversation and the only way to do that is ask questions, research and listen. I made sure I did all three, and continue doing them now. When I first entered the industry there weren't a lot of resources for me out there, but by constantly researching some gems have popped up along the way.
Nothing beats learning from people first hand who are in the industry, but books, podcasts, websites, movies, etc can sure give you insight on what's happening around you. There are a lot of resources when it comes to the fashion industry, but not so much the modeling industry. I think there is still a gap in the market when it comes to knowledge on the modeling industry, but I digress ... when you learn about part of the fashion industry it still gives you knowledge into how the modeling industry works. Fashion and modeling are intertwined. I know how hard it was for me to find resources a year ago so I decided to share some of favorite resources.
