TEA TIME

I am a tea girl stuck in a coffee world. If you know me you know I prefer tea over coffee any day. I drink tea everyday and sometimes multiple times a day. If you really know me ... you also know that I always have a minimum of about three drinks with me at all times, but I digress :) All this to say is that I am about to give you the gems on my tea drinking ways and hope that one or all these tea's can help you.

I have tried lots of tea's and will try about any one that is thrown at me, because I have had great experiences with them helping me with certain symptoms instead of taking medicine. There are so many benefits to drinking tea, especially the ones listed below. Below are majority of the teas that I have had in rotation for about two or three years now.

*I do know that tea is not for everyone, so this is by no means saying that you have to try and love these suggested below. I personally love the way tea taste, so I am just sharing my personal knowledge*

Green Tea: Green tea is a staple in the tea family - it is like the old wise grandfather that just makes everything better. Green tea has been said to be one of the healthiest beverages on the planet .. just saying. I drink green tea in the morning. It is packed with antioxidants enhancing brain and body functions. Green tea helps with boosting your metabolism, increasing weight loss, and making you less susceptible to certain cancers and diseases.

Black Tea: Black tea is known for enhancing energy and focus. Most people drink black tea around the afternoon for their mid day pick me up. It is loaded with antioxidants! I could name all the benefits of drinking black tea but then we would be here all day. Black tea helps with just about everything honestly. Time for you to start drinking black tea? I think so.

Chamomile Tea: Most people drink chamomile tea before bed because it helps with relaxing and calming the nerves. Chamomile is also associated with relieving headaches, enhancing skin heath, and soothing stomach irritation. Nothing beats laying down with a cup of hot chamomile tea before bed!

Ginger Tea: Ginger tea is one of my favorites to drink in the winter. Ginger helps with nauseous and upset stomach. It completely settles the stomach when I drink it. It is also known for reducing inflammation, enhancing immune system, fight off respiratory issues, and also helps aid menstrual pains. Ginger is packed with Vitamin C and magnesium, so overall it is powerhouse drink.

Peppermint Tea: One of my favorite teas because it helps with aiding digestion and relieving headaches. I have problems with both, so peppermint tea is always stocked up at my house. I personally love the way peppermint tea taste, so I drank this one pretty frequently regardless.

Chai Tea: Chai is known for boosting immune system, enhancing heart heath, aiding in digestion, and also known for reducing blood sugar. Honest bomb here - I do have chai tea packets at my house but anytime I have chai tea is from Starbucks. Listen, I am unsure if that is helping my immune system since it's a chai latte, BUT it is damn good so I am just going to continue to sip tea.

Matcha: This is one is the newest to the clan as I have just started drinking Matcha about a year ago. Majority of the people that I know drink it hot and cold, but I personally have only had it hot (probably will change soon). I also add honey to mine every time I get it. Matcha is great for increasing energy. When I do need a pick me up I order or make a matcha tea instead of going to coffee. Matcha is known as a detoxifier and an immunity booster. Matcha also aides in calmness, focus, heart health, brain health etc.

* I have also had face mask with Matcha in it that have worked wonders as well. Matcha is one of my new favorites if you haven't noticed already!

Turmeric Tea: Turmeric is great for anti-inflammatory. I drink this mostly when I need to reset my (weak) immune system. Most people drink turmeric tea in the morning. Personal opinion here .. I am not the biggest fan of this tea, but it gets the job done indefinitely. It is not the best tasting (at all) to me but I drink this tea the minute I feel that I am getting sick or when I am surrounding by people who are sick. The benefits of the tea are outstanding so its worth it! If you are trying to enhance your immune system I would look into turmeric.

Lemon & Honey Tea: I saved this one for the end because I think this is most drank tea in my opinion. It goes hand-n-hand with green tea. When restaurants ask you if you want tea they are usually going bring out the water, teabag, honey, and lemon. This tea is mostly used to relive a sore throat. I don't have much to say about this one because it is the holy grail of all tea.
