WELCOME TO THE QUARANTINE LIFESTYLE


Welcome to lockdown 2020 where you and I are probably sitting in our beds or our new makeshift work space while reading this. The world is going through a serious pandemic right now - I don't know about you, but it personally feels like the world is at a standstill. What a time time to be alive .. or whatever it is drake said, right?

We have been in the house for about 3 weeks now, and this seems to be our new normal. This is new territory for all of us, but I think in order to make it "through" is to use this time to find our own personal calm during the chaos. What are you doing to keep yourself sane - personally and/or professionally? People are losing their jobs, being forced to cancel big moments, and overall having their lives flipped upside down. It is weird navigating right now, truly.

So, what is one to do during this time? There is no right answer! Some people will use this time to go full steam ahead hustling, some people will use this time to finally reset & recharge, and some people will do a little bit of both. All those options are great as long as they are what is being for you during this time. My hope is that you and your loved ones are being safe and that you are trying to remain positive. It doesn't matter what exactly your days look like right now, as long as they are fulfilling your needs.

Here are some things to do during this quarantine:

Get Some Fresh Air/Exercise

I don't really go outside, so I should take my own advice, but I digress. You try to get some form of fresh air daily so that you are cooped up in the house all day. Sit outside on your porch/balcony. If fresh air right now isn't your thing, that's fine! Take a workout class online through YouTube. Get your body moving. You can go crazy if you just limit yourself to sitting on the bed/couch.

Schedule Time For Yourself

As stated before these are unusual times. You may be in the thick of working from home or just overwhelmed with the current events, but make sure you are scheduling time for yourself. It could be an hour of personal/professional development, pampering yourself, napping, etc. There are twenty-four hours in a day, so make sure that you are at-least carving out uninterrupted time for you and only you. Now is a perfect time to make yourself a priority if you weren't before.

Make Adjustments

There are a lot of changes happening around us so I know some might be reluctant to change anything else, but it might be good. Change around your bedroom or your work space, map out some new goals, learn a new skill, challenge yourself to new things, etc. Use this time to make any adjustments necessary.

Breathe

I am sure this year is nothing like anyone expected, but everything will be okay in the end. All things that bring you light keep those in your vision. We will get through this. We can't get time back, so might as well make the best out of the time we do have whether it's in quarantine or not.

Everyone's situation is different, and people handle things differently, so please be mindful of the people around you (or the internet). Times are hard for everyone worldwide. Be compassionate. Again, I hope you and your loved ones are being safe. Practice social distancing and please stay home :)
