Welcome to my early morning vent session - I am not sure how many days we are into quarantine, but I know it's been awhile. I know a lot has transpired in just a short amount of time. People's life have been flipped upside down, loved ones have been lost, and stability and planning has been pretty nonexistence. Everything we thought we "knew" has been tested. We are going through the motions daily while not knowing what the next day, week, month, or year holds. It is truly crazy times.
I couldn't sleep last night and found myself complaining about the work day ahead of me. In times like this it is a blessing to have a job, so of course I felt guilty for complaining immediately. I am blessed to be in this position right now, but indeed stressed. I am stressed for myself, for you, for strangers, for the economy, for .. pretty much everyone and everything. I am stressed for the people who have lost their jobs - their sense of security and stability.
It truly keeps me up a night wondering how can we make sure this doesn't happen again and what systems need to be put in place. I'm unsure why I am taking this so hard, but I have been diligently making it my priority to generate ideas/systems to put in my place so that the people around me can secure of some kind of income and sanity during this time. It hurts my heart seeing others go without. Times are hard, but we need to band together to help those around us in anyway we can.
I am for sure living for more intentional now since this has all happened. What about you? How has this pandemic impacted you and your view on things?
Although nobody could have ever pictured this happening - I think great innovation will blossom from this. Nobody wants to feel like this or have the fate of everything they've worked for put on the back burner again due to something out of their control. I know there isn't much we can control right now, and that is what is scary to most people. How can we bring some sense of control back into the average persons life?
I am bringing new life into this world soon and I know personally I want to do anything and everything to create something for not only myself, but for my child to live an easier life.
Let's come together and truly think of ways we can all help each other. It doesn't have to financially. It could be anything! It could be simply checking in on those around you, sharing the things you are doing to keep your happiness in tack, supporting small or local business by buying or just sharing their work, etc. Anything!
Happy Monday, and I hope this week brings you some kind of peace!
