A couple of days ago I shared on Instagram that I reached my first goal of earning $10k on Poshmark. I quickly was hit with "teach me", "how?", and everything in between. I tried individually responding back to everyone, but thought it would be easier to put in one place so that people can look back at anytime.
I have been on Poshmark since 2013, but I didn't start taking it seriously until the end of 2018. I started to take it serious when I was stuck on my bed/couch after surgery, and it made me enough money to not need to go back to my 9-5. It was crazy to me and all that I wanted to do, but that voice of self doubt in my head said "nope, you still need a your security of the 9-5" - so I pushed the idea to the side again. Although I still have a 9-5 I use Poshmark as my "cushion" for when I am finally ready to make the jump.
I will be honest - I am not a guru when it comes to Poshmark. I am still learning and seeing what works for me. I do not thrift for my items as most resellers on Poshmark do (I want to start doing that though, but I digress). The pieces in my closet are things that I have never worn or worn a handful of times. There are still things I want to do to expand my Poshmark, but now I am going to share some small simple beginner tips to start earning today on your closet.
Share your closet: When I started I would just list my items and then that was it. Once I started to share my items (different daily) multiple times throughout the day that drove a lot more traffic to my closet and then lead to multiple sales within the day. This flows into the next step which is sharing in the designated parties.
Share your closet when they are having a party: There are usually 3 Posh parties a day (one at 12:00PM, 3:00PM, and 10:00PM EST). They have them daily and they are targeted to different things in your closets such as shoes, bags, make up, dresses, tops, etc. Thousands of people join these parties, so sharing your items into the party give you the biggest exposures.
Share other closets: A win win for everyone - Poshmark is really a community. Sharing items is basically saying to another posher that you are down to make them money. Sharing usually leads to a sale - you are acknowledging each other's hustle basically.
Send private price drops: After I usually hit about 20/30+ likes on an item I will send a private price drop to those likers. Poshmark will give you suggestions to price drop of 20%, 30%, or 40% off. I usually do 20% off with $4.99 shipping.
Become a Poshmark ambassador: To become an ambassador you have to have 5k shares for yourself, 5k shares for others, 50 new poshers shared, have 50 items listed, 15 sales, have a 4.5 star rating, 1 love note (review) given, and have a below 3 day ship rate. I feel like I got more exposure once I became an ambassador which lead to more people looking and buying from my closet.
Some other suggestions are adding items weekly or at least 5-10 items a month and also I found that the pictures where yourself or someone else is modeling the item it will sell faster. Again, these are just the simple beginners tips to jump start some sales on your closet. After these steps you get more comfortable on the platform and will get into your own groove.
Do you have Poshmark? If so, share your name and I will follow you. If not, use my code "BIANCADAMIONNE" for $10 in your Poshmark account.
